LE M DANS TOUS SES ÉTATS
"Le M dans tous ses états" is both a tribute to and a modern continuation of the graphic research on the letter M initiated by Wolfgang Weingart in 1962. This work is the result of an exploration into the various forms and expressions of the letter M.
Sculptural and alive, the letter metamorphoses and comes to life. Sometimes elusive, but always expressive, it evolves in a universe where plasticity and poetry mingle.

Using contemporary mediums, and particularly 3D modeling software, I engaged my approach to questioned the letter in its essence. I explored the limits of its functionality and its potential to be perceived as an object subject to physical properties.
I began by exploring the various forms of the letter M using the diverse tools available in 3D software. I then compiled and classified these forms into an atlas that lists all the possibilities generated from my research.
Some M's, with lighter or localized deformations, take on an additional dimension, adopting a character and attitude. Others become unrecognizable, abandoning their primary function as letters meant to inhabit a word and serve as signs for transcribing language.
These M's do not lose their capacity to convey meaning. They invite contemplation, reflection, and imagination, transforming the letter, which would normally be overlooked, into the focal point for the viewer.
The research continues through the prism of my eyes. Creating environments around my unreadable M, I allow the observer to see the shapes I envision in these abstract M's. This transforms the letter into a story rather than a mere narrative element.
The story is told visually, without words, through a series of six posters, considering the form of our letter our letter as a the geometry of a spacecraft or the curves of a petal.
